MyChart Patient Portal Frequently Asked Questions

What is MyChart and why should I use it?
  • MyChart is St. Anthony's hospital patient portal that provides online access to portions of your medical record through a secure internet connection using a personal computer, tablet or smart phone. You can use MyChart to review test results and access information about your hospital outpatient appointments and admissions.
Is there a fee?
  • MyChart is a convenient and free online service available 24 hours a day.
How do I get started?
  • You can sign up for MyChart while you are at St. Anthony's Medical Center for an outpatient appointment or inpatient hospital stay.
  • For inpatients, a Patient Liaison or care provider can provide the patient with an activation code for MyChart and can assist with the website sign in process.
  • For outpatients, a patient can request an activation code for MyChart from the outpatient department front desk he/she is visiting. The patient can then visit the St. Anthony's MyChart portal website to sign in.
Who can have a MyChart account?
  • All St. Anthony's patients age 18 and over are able to receive an activation code to sign into MyChart.
Can my spouse and I share a MyChart account?
  • Just as each individual is required to have his/her own hospital medical record, so must each adult patient establish his/her own MyChart account.
Can I view a MyChart account for a family member, such as an aging parent?
  • Yes, you may view a family member's MyChart account. This is called proxy access and allows an individual, authorized by the patient, to create a proxy MyChart account. You, as the proxy, can then connect to the family member's MyChart information.

  • A Proxy Authorization Form must be completed in person at St. Anthony's Health Information Management Department.
Who do I contact if I have further questions about signing up for MyChart?
  • Please call 314-ANTHONY (268-4669), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. central time for questions about signing up for MyChart. After hours, please leave a message and a response will be provided within two business days.
How secure is MyChart?
  • St. Anthony's has taken great care to ensure that your MyChart information is secure. Access to MyChart is controlled through personal IDs and passwords. All information is transmitted using SSL, the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and your internet browser. This link ensures that all MyChart data passed remains private.
What happens if I lose my username and password?
  • If you lose your username and password, you can recover them. For your username, you can click on the "Forgot MyChart user name?" link on the sign in page and fill out the form. Your username will be emailed to the email address you have on file. For your password, click on the "Forgot Password?" link and fill out the form. You may also contact 314 ANTHONY (268-4669) for assistance.

Why can't I schedule or request an appointment for every service?
  • Some appointments, such as imaging visits, require detailed technical information to be submitted at the time of scheduling. We are working to expand the number of appointments that can be scheduled online.
How do I cancel an appointment online?
  • Once you've made an appointment, you may cancel it from MyChart up to 24 hours before your visit. Once your scheduled appointment is inside the 24 hour window, please contact the department of your scheduled visit. MyChart should not be used to cancel individual appointments scheduled in a series, for example weekly visits for physical therapy.
Can I view my lab results online, even if I just came in for outpatient lab work and was not admitted to the hospital?
  • Yes, if you came to the hospital for lab work as an outpatient, your lab results will be available in MyChart.
Can I view my image test results online (i.e. mammogram results, CT, MRI, etc.)?
  • Yes, if you came to the hospital for image test as an outpatient, your test results will be available in MyChart. Please contact your doctor for consultation and interpretation of your actual test images.
Can I view information about my Emergency Room and/or Urgent Care visit?
  • Yes, if you came to St. Anthony's Emergency Department or one of St. Anthony's four Urgent Care locations (Arnold, Fenton, Lemay and Big Bend) that information is available in MyChart.
Who do I contact if I have questions about my test results or clinical information viewable in MyChart? If my demographic information in MyChart is incorrect, may I correct this information myself? To update personal information, please log into MyChart and from the left menu, go to the Preferences section and select the "Change Address" option.

When I was discharged from St. Anthony's hospital, I was given some instructions about my care but now I can't find them. Is that information available in MyChart?
  • Yes, your After Visit Summary is available in MyChart, which contains your post visit instructions.
Can I view my bill in MyChart and pay it online?
  • The billing section of MyChart displays your individual visit billing information. When you are ready to make a payment, MyChart provides a direct connection to our bill pay website.
I already have a Pay Bill Online account with St. Anthony's. Should I continue to use this separately from MyChart? Will my username and password be the same?
  • Please continue to make payments through your Pay Bill Online account. At this time your Pay Bill Online and MyChart account usernames and passwords are not linked and may be different.
Why isn't my doctor's office visit information available in MyChart?
  • MyChart is a patient portal for St. Anthony's Medical Center. Your physician's office may have their own patient portal system. For example, if your physician is a member of St. Anthony's Physician Organization, he/she may participate in the eClinicalWorks Health Portal. If your physician is not a member of St. Anthony's Physician Organization, please contact his/her office to determine if the office has its own patient portal. At this time, St. Anthony's MyChart is not linked to physician office patient portals.
May I email my personal physician using MyChart?
  • MyChart only contains information about your hospital admissions or outpatient visits. At this time, you will not be able to email your personal physician(s) using MyChart.
Can I use MyChart from a mobile device, like a smart phone?
  • MyChart Mobile is a free application (app) for Android™ and Apple® devices. You must first have a St. Anthony's MyChart account. If you do not already have a MyChart account, please contact 314-ANTHONY (268-4669) for assistance.

    To get the app, you will need an Android™ phone and/or tablet, iPhone®, iPad ™, and iPod touch®. From one of these devices, go to the App Store or Market and download MyChart Mobile.
